Housing

Smålands nation’s housing is managed by an independent housing foundation, Stiftelsen Smålandsgården. All Småland’s homes are centrally located on Smålandsgården, next door to Smålands nation and the Uppsala Cathedral.

The housing stock consists of 47 unfurnished student rooms, each with its own bathroom and are spread over six corridors. In addition, there are six studio apartments with kitchenette, five furnished two-room apartments and 12 unfurnished family apartments with three or more rooms.

The rent for a student room in a corridor of approx. 20 m2 is currently (2023) approx. SEK 4,000 per month with two rent-free months during the summer. Applications for accommodation on Smålands are made here.

The bathrooms in the entire building are newly renovated.

A queue list is drawn up according to the number of semesters you’re a member of the nation. Active office-holders receive an extra point per semester and some heavier positions give more points per semester. Contact the First Curator at 1q@smalands.nu to have your official points entered. If you are wondering how to become active, you can click here or you can contact 1Q directly.

Regardless of when you enter the queue, you will receive the entirety of points corresponding to your semesters as a paying member of Småland’s nation.

The Smålandsgården Foundation also has its own website here! Information is posted here on an ongoing basis. Smålandsgården is managed by the Norrlandsgårdarna Foundation.
