Smålands nation’s housing is managed by an independent housing foundation, Stiftelsen Smålandsgården. All Småland’s homes are centrally located on Smålandsgården, next door to Smålands nation and the Uppsala Cathedral.
The housing stock consists of 47 furnished student rooms, each with its own bathroom and are spread over six corridors. In addition, there are six studio apartments with kitchenette, five furnished two-room apartments and 12 unfurnished family apartments with three or more rooms.
The rent for a student room in a corridor of approx. 20 m2 is currently (2019) approx. SEK 3,500 per month with two rent-free months during the summer. Applications for accommodation on Smålands are made here.
The bathrooms are gradually being renovated at the moment and are expected to be completed in 2021. Some rooms have already completed the bathroom renovations. Corridor rooms that are undergoing renovation have a rent reduction in arrears.
A queue list is drawn up according to the number of semesters you’re a member of the nation. Officials also receive an extra point of the completed term of office per semester and some heavier positions give more points per semester. Contact the First Curator at firstname.lastname@example.org to have your official points entered. If you are wondering how to become a civil servant, you can click here or you can contact 1Q directly.
Regardless of when you stand in line, you can credit the number of semesters as a student that you’re enrolled in Småland’s nation.
The Smålandsgården Foundation also has its own website here! Information is posted here on an ongoing basis concerning the foundation and our homes. The operation of Smålandsgården is managed by the Norrlandsgårdarna Foundation.
